Donkey's trail & pilgrim's path
Overview
Starting from the old venetian village of San Marco and hiking up a steep but amazingly nice hill admiring the breathtaking views of the coastline ,we will end up at the middle of Pantokrator mountain at a place of unique biodiversity . Walking sometimes next to live stock we are strolling to Spartilas village,a short break at the local "kaffenion" for refreshment is all we need! We will start descending between the narrow alleys of the village and then through the single path that pilgrims were using long before the asphalt road was constructed in order to accomplish their pilgrimage to the Christ Pantokrator church on the highest (918mt) peak of the mountain. Walking amongst tropic vegetation next to deserted water mill and many photo stops to capture one of the most unique and unknown areas of the island.
